Growing up, my mom used to tell me: “Dream big. With heart and hard work, anything is possible. The sky’s the limit, so fly high.” And, even as an adult, she still reminds me from time to time. Her encouragement and support helped me build a growth mindset. I want to do the same for my students and empower them, just like my mother did for me. A growth mindset is achievable in all my students (Dweck, n.d.), and that will be my ongoing goal from day one in my classroom!
